Apple diversifies iPhone 14 suppliers ahead of the Launch
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 14 series in September, and to avoid any delays in its launch, the company has diversified its component suppliers, which not only allows the Cupertino-based tech giant to reduce dependence on a single supplier but also have a bargaining position. And, ahead of the iPhone 14 launch, Apple’s suppliers’ list has further expanded since China’s SG Micro has passed the quality certifications for the higher-end iPhone 14 models.
Word comes from renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said SG Micro will likely ship the PMICs for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. It will be the first time the Chinese company will supply components to Apple, suggesting its technical capabilities have reached the tier-1 level, which is necessary if you want to produce premium, high-end consumer electronics.
SG Micro getting orders from Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will also help increase its revenue and profits while helping Apple avoid delays in iPhone shipments due to component shortages.
