All iPhone 15 units will have a Dynamic Island, Pros will have Titanium frame
The latest iPhone 15 leak gives us insight into their displays. A trio of leaked glass panels reveal that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will have a Dynamic Island. The three pieces below are reportedly from the iPhone 15 on the left, the iPhone 15 Pro in the middle, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max on the right.
Rumor has it the entire lineup will have thinner uniform 1.5mm bezels across the entire display.
While the vanilla 15 and 15 Plus will get the new Dynamic Island, they’ll retain the standard 60Hz refresh rate, and miss on the Always-on Display of the Pro models. Another differentiator will be the chipset, as last year, the Pro models will be bumped to the A17 Bionic, while the regular models will get 2022’s A16 Bionic.
The other leak shows us CAD renders of the iPhone 15 Pro. The new Pro models will premiere titanium frames instead of stainless steel, which would make them more durable, but more importantly, lighter. The other key feature is the move to solid-state buttons. They’ll have 3D Touch haptic feedback, courtesy of multiple Taptic Engine motors underneath, to indicate succesful press.
Even the mute switch will become a button – press once for Silent and once more to enable sound.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will keep their regular buttons.
