Samsung Electronics Expands Access to Device Repairs in Korea

Samsung announced that the company is expanding its Self-Repair program to Korea. Starting today, Galaxy customers in Korea can make their own repairs and fix their mobile devices with certified Samsung parts and in-depth instruction manuals. Customers can complete repairs on the Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 family of products, Galaxy Book Pro 15” and Galaxy Book Pro 360 15” PCs, in addition to the 32” HD TV1.

Starting from today, Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 series owners will be able to replace the phone screen, back glass, and charging ports. Galaxy Book Pro series owners will have access to seven genuine parts to take repair into their own hands. This includes the case front, case rear, display, battery, touch pad, power key with fingerprint reader, and rubber feet.

“Samsung is working to empower our customers with the tools and knowledge to enjoy a high-quality, high-performance Galaxy experience for as long as possible,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile experience Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to scaling access to our Self-Repair program around the world while improving the repair ability of our products.”

Offering Customer-First Care Options
Samsung first introduced its Self-Repair program in the United States in August 2022. In Korea, the Self-Repair program will be available across our vast network of 178 Samsung Service Centers throughout the country with tools and manuals available on the Samsung Electronics Service website.

Customers will first order self-repair kits, equipped with Samsung parts, premium tools and easy-to-read manuals to fix their device. Once complete, customers can calibrate their device with the Samsung Self-Repair Assistant app to ensure that the new parts are secured and the device is working properly. Galaxy customers can also check their device performance through a Diagnostics check via Samsung Members, which can simultaneously test 27 features of their device.

Optimizing Self-Repair
Samsung’s Self-Repair program empowers more Galaxy customers with the option to repair their technology, prolonging the lifecycle of their devices. Customers will be able to keep all repair tools so they can use them whenever they need, providing a no-hassle experience to fix their Galaxy devices at any time. Customers also have the option to return their used device parts and tools by visiting a Samsung Service Center or mailing them back to Samsung. Galaxy customers will then receive a partial reimbursement for the cost of the new device part.

Samsung will continue to seek to expand access to repair capabilities, empowering Galaxy customers with more choices to repair their technology.
